History of Sunrise The Path to Expertise
The Sunrise journey began in 1957, when the Company’s Founder, Ata Ur Rahman opened Universal Plastic Industry in Karachi. Operating from a small space on Frere Road with one semi-automatic injection-moulding machine, the young company quickly became known for its quality consciousness, determination and enterprising spirit.
In 1960, the success of Rahman’s first venture enabled him to purchase a competing manufacturer,Atlas Plastic. Running two successful businesses in tandem earned the leadership invaluable lessons in growth and product specialization.
In 1969, with the creation of a new facility at the SITE industrial area of Karachi, Sunrise Plastic was born, diversifying the parent company’s portfolio to include the production of industrial components as well as conventional household items. Eventually, the Companies merged their unique capabilities to provide a full-service manufacturing solution.
In 1986, with an eye to remain at the forefront of Pakistan’s widening packaging needs, Sunrise Plastic installed its first fully automatic blow-moulding machine, branching into the creation of plastic bottles. This forward-thinking step helped to widen Sunrise Plastic’s customer base to include renowned names from the FMCG and pharmaceutical industries.
Today, Sunrise Plastic uses cutting edge technology at its Karachi and Rahim Yar Khan facilities; providing a range of packaging for indispensible products such as personal and home care, food and beverage and pharmaceuticals. We proudly offer our partners streamlined, customized services with a personal edge.
